Everyone must learn how to interpret the messages of their body; every change is remembered on the hair, including this.

High levels of the stress hormone cortisol in hair may indicate a heart attack months before the trouble to come.

Canadian scientists have investigated how problems at work, in marriage and financial problems increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and found that there is a biological marker which can predict a heart attack.

Traditionally, cortisol is measured through the analysis of blood, urine and saliva, but all samples showed levels of cortisol in the days and hours leading up to the analysis, explain professors Stan Van Mind and Gideon Koran of the University of Western Ontario.

However, the hair is different. Hair grows an average of one centimeter per month, and strand long 6 inches can demonstrate a level of stress for a much longer period.

This information was based on analysis of hair samples from 56 people who have had heart attacks, i.e. comparing the results of this analysis with the results of the analysis of hair samples of men who were suffering from other diseases, and have not had a heart attack.
