Every pet owner knows how hard it is to resist leaving your furry friend in the living room, or even share a bed with it. It’s true, you have to be a heart of stone to stay cool looking at the sad eyes. While it can be a lot of fun for you and your family, leaving your dog in your bed can actually put your and your family’s health at risk.
Not many owners are aware that your dog or cat in your bedroom or living room, or more accurately, allowing them to sit on the couch with a can actually cause a lot of health complications. People with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk because their immune response to microorganisms is very weak. And knowing that the furry pets carry a variety of parasites that can infect your body and cause serious health problems, it is logical to assume that prevention is the best protection in this case.
New research has shown that 60% of cat owners and 55% of dog owners in the United States sleep with their pets every day. But it is also a trend in Germany, Japan, Australia, the Netherlands, the UK and France. In other words, it is a worldwide trend that will not end in the near future. But if we all try to raise awareness of the problem, this trend may soon become history.
