You have not heard this about the popular spice turmeric (and you should know)
Turmeric is known for its health benefits. Turmeric is used in Chinese and Indian medicines like anti-inflammatory drug for the treatment of several ailments, including bloating, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, bloody urine, bleeding, toothache, bruises, chest pain and cramps. Its bright yellow hue, curcumin, is considered to be the main reason of healing of many ailments.
The power of turmeric is that it has anti-inflammatory properties as compared to the other drugs that are chemically and are not natural. Unlike many medicines, turmeric does not produce side effects.
Curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties and therefore it is used as a remedy for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. It has also been proven to relieve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Turmeric also helps people who suffer from cystic fibrosis. Turmeric is a great way to prevent cancer and inhibit cancer cell growth and metastasis (spread of cancer). It is excellent for the liver and cardiovascular health, lowers bad cholesterol, reduces the risk of stroke and heart disease. Finally, turmeric protects against Alzheimer’s disease.
With a list of benefits like that, it’s no wonder we love so much turmeric!
