For those who have taken the Influenza vaccine (which the CDC reports is 70ish percent effective this year) your risk of contracting the flu is actually HIGHER the year after. This is because the risk of shedding and spreading the virus for longer periods of times is HIGHER due to what the vaccine did to your immune system the previous year.1
Because the influenza vaccine changes the immune system in such a way that our T-cells can’t respond using memory response, we are MORE susceptible to illness than a person WHO NEVER GOT THE VACCINE.
